Details and description
Carved into a wild part of the island’s coastline, the fantastic bay of “Is Praneddas” is one of Sant’Antioco’s real gems.
To get there, you have to follow a short but attractive path, which takes you through pines and Mediterranean scrub, on towards rocks and cliffs, and then to the deep blue of the boundless sea. Among the rocky shapes sculpted by nature and time, there’s the imposing Arco dei Baci (Arch of Kisses): a beautiful natural gateway onto the sea, delighting visitors with its unusual appearance and its romantic associations. You can dip into the small natural pool by the Arco dei Baci, and have a swim in the calm, shallow water.
A few more strokes will take you past the pillars of the rocky arch (the “Colonne D’Ercole”) and out towards the intense blue of the open sea. The whole natural scenario is indeed very spectacular, and sure to remain in the memory for a long time.
