Annina II is a 10m long lateen sail.

It was built in Carloforte by the renowned shipwright Francesco Biggio in 1969 in oak, ash,  rock pine, maritime pine and fir. For the first twenty years it was employed in coral fishing in Alghero then, in the same sea, it was the lobster fishing boat until the early 2000s. Today Annina II sails in those waters where she was born and carries on her trade accompanying Luca in fishing for octopus and lobster between the islands of Sant’Antioco and Carloforte.

Do you want to come on board with us to relive the history and magic of this boat in an unforgettable tour along  the islands of southern Sardinia?

Our trips depart from the port of Calasetta and offer two destinations: the island of San Pietro and the island of Sant’Antioco, in southern Sardinia. The boat follows the coast to be able to observe the magnificent cliffs, the hidden caves, the great beaches and the most suggestive coves. Thanks to the low walls, you travel on the surface of the water, in contact with nature and immersed in an unforgettable landscape.

Sant’Antioco is the largest of the Sulcis islands and all of southern Sardinia. This ancient land shows numerous testimonies of the Nuragic and Punic civilizations. The coast line is intact, from the boat you can see barren cliffs, clearings covered with Mediterranean scrub, caves and deep coves that hide wonderful beaches. We stop at the most scenic spots: the long Grande beach, the Mangiabarche lighthouse, the gulf of Mezzaluna, the incredible depths of Porto Susciau and Cala Lunga. As on the island of San Pietro, the water is very transparent and in the underwater landscape, rich in fish, rocks, posidonia and sand alternate .

Carloforte is an ancient village of Tabarchine foundation, among its picturesque streets you can still hear the Genoese accent. The coasts are largely wild, with an alternation of high rocky walls, caves, cliffs with curious shapes and wonderful beaches. The sea is very clean and transparent everywhere. On our excursions the boat Annina II stops frequently for bathroom stops on shallow sandy bottoms in areas where the rocks and posidonia offer beautiful snorkeling opportunities. The hull seems to be suspended over the water when we are at anchor in the bay of Le Spine, a lonely area surrounded by an incredible silence broken only by the call of Eleonora’s falcons. Other stopping points are the Capo Sandalo lighthouse, La Bobba beach, the Tonnara, the Mezzaluna cliff, Cala Fico, Punta Nera.

Your boat trip includes lunch on board with vegetables from the Sant’Antioco gardens and the typical cassulli of Carloforte prepared with fresh pesto and local tuna . In the afternoon we will carefully choose a quiet cove for a refreshing aperitif with the renowned wine of the Sulcitan islands.

Annina II is equipped with all the safety and rescue equipment to make your boat excursion pleasant and peaceful on any occasion. There is no shortage of accessories to explore the transparent seabed with a snorkeling tour: fins and masks are at your disposal!
