By Plane

Cagliari Airport, located just 80 km from Sant’Antioco, offers connections to numerous domestic and international destinations via scheduled and charter flights.

From the airport, you can reach Sant'Antioco by various means of transportation, including: rental cars, private transfers, trains, or public buses.

By Ferry

Sardinia is accessible all year round by boat and ferry from the rest of Italy, from France (including Corsica), and from Spain.

The main ferry companies are Tirrenia, Moby, Sardinia Ferries and Grimaldi, with arrivals at Cagliari, Olbia, Golfo Aranci, Porto Torres and Arbatax. For more information on routes, companies and tickets, visit the websites of the individual companies or click here for a general overview.

From the port of Cagliari, it’s easy to reach the train and bus stations, or to rent a car or book a private transfer.

By Train

From Cagliari-Elmas Airport, you can easily walk to the “Elmas Aeroporto” train station, from which trains depart approximately every hour during the day (from around 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.) toward Carbonia Serbariu.
Schedules and tickets are available at www.trenitalia.com or directly at the station.

From Elmas Airport Station, continue to the station “Carbonia Serbariu”.
Attention! Due to major upgrades to the regional rail network you must change trains at Decimomannu on the Sulcis Service (bus replacement service), which will take you to the Carbonia Serbariu station.
Trenitalia staff will assist you with any questions or needs.
Total duration: approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from Elmas

From Carbonia, you can continue on to Sant’Antioco by taking the bus that departs from Intermodal Center, next to the train station. For further instructions, please refer to the section By Bus.

By Bus

The Sardinian Regional Transport Company (ARST) operates the network of bus routes throughout Sardinia.

The schedules can be viewed directly on the ARST official website: enter your departure and arrival locations in the search bar, then click on Calculate. On the next page, you can also change the date and time to suit your needs.

For example: departure “Carbonia Intermodal Center”, destination “S.Antioco Piazza Repubblica, 5”.

The trip from Carbonia takes about 30 minutes, and the bus arrives right in the heart of Sant’Antioco.
Once you get off the bus, cross Via XXIV Maggio and you’ll immediately see the Visit Sant’Antioco Tourist Information Center on your right.

By Car

Getting to Sant’Antioco by car, Motorhome or Campervan is easy and convenient. The island is connected to the mainland by an artificial isthmus and a bridge, so no ferry is needed: you can arrive directly and start exploring the island and its many attractions right away.

 

If you're traveling by Motorhome or Campervan, there are several equipped rest areas available, including one that's open year-round and located in the town center.
