HOW TO GET AROUND IN SANT'ANTIOCO
The pleasure of country living
The Village and How to Get Around
The village of Sant'Antioco is an enchanting place where you can rediscover the pleasure of living in a country on a human scaleforgetting the need to use a car for every journey. The inhabited centre, whose ancient name was Sulci, spreads out on a small rise dominated by the 5th century basilica dedicated to the island's patron saint, Saint Antiochus Martyr. Around this ancient core, rich in archaeological sites and historical monuments, extends the modern urban centre. The focus of tourist and commercial activities is concentrated on the seafront and along the road axis that crosses the town centre, passing through the main streets such as Via Nazionale, Via Roma, Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Regina Margherita. With its low, colourful houses, red-tiled roofs and narrow, cobbled streets, it retains the typical appearance of a fishing village.
If your accommodation is located outside the centre, or you wish to explore the beaches and the natural wonders of the island, you can take advantage of several options of public and private transport.
