Our land is fertile and bountiful: farming and livestock raising have formed the foundation of the local economy since ancient times, giving rise to a culinary tradition deeply rooted in the land and unique in its simplicity.

The Sardinian appetizer, consisting of traditional cured meats and cheeses such as sausage, ham, guanciale, and lard or mustela, pecorino, and goat cheese, is a showcase of our local specialties, with a strong and distinctive flavor. Pecorino cheese, produced using traditional methods from sheep’s milk, is now famous worldwide for its unique flavor that evokes the tastes and aromas of our land.

Traditional Sardinian pasta, such as fregola or malloreddus, is primarily used to prepare meat-based pasta dishes. One of the most popular specialties is fregola with cabbage. The combination of these two ingredients creates a dish with a bold and unique flavor. It is a highly regarded and nutritious dish and makes for an excellent vegetarian alternative to meat- and fish-based pasta dishes. The famous malloreddus, on the other hand, are excellent served with a meat sauce made with ground meat, sausage, or—for those who prefer bolder flavors—wild boar or mutton.
