Franco Foot Farm

The Piede Franco farm, located on the island of Sant'Antioco, has vineyards in both island municipalities, with the main body of the farm located in Don Ilario, Cussorgia (Calasetta).
After a long and relentless work of recovery of old abandoned vineyards that started in 2005 and lasted about 10 years, in 2015 Roberto Matzeu decided to establish his company. With the primary intent of snatching as many vineyards as possible from abandonment and restoring them to their former glory. Today, the company consists of more than 4.5 hectares under vine, mostly old vines, hence the name of the company. Since 2019 we have been producing our own bottle of Riserva di Carignano a Piede Franco whose name is Bellesa, and since 2022 it has been joined by another bottle, an iGT Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso. The latter is a Blend of 3 grape varieties (Carignano,Syrah and Cabernrt Franc) named Perdularju, coming from young vineyards also planted on the land purchased with the intention of creating a single large corporate body, the puncturing HEART being the old Piede Franco vineyards. Numerous are the plans for the future, just as, the research and recovery of these ancient vineyards will continue.
