XABARRA Winery

XABARRA

XABARRA is a winery that manages the entire production cycle, from grape cultivation to transformation into wine, with direct sales. Production is at 100% Carignano di Sant'Antioco free-range, with vines that have an average age of about 60 years. These vines are true natural monuments, witnesses to an ancient method of bush-training, cultivated on sandy soils, rigorously selected to guarantee the quality of the grapes.

The winery covers 3 hectares, all located on a single plot in Sa Barra, an area historically renowned for the production of Carignano. It is from this locality that the name of the wine, Xabarra, originates.

Situated only 500 metres from the village, the estate is easily accessible on foot and offers an enchanting view of the surrounding lagoon. Within the property, there is a small historic vineyard, 124 years old, inherited from our great-grandparents, a symbol of Sant'Antioco's authentic genetic heritage. From this vineyard are taken the shoots for the reproduction of the vines.

The winery, followed with passion and dedication, is open for visits. The vineyards, planted in different years, narrate the evolution and growth of the island's Carignano, allowing visitors to discover each stage of production.
