Su Magasinu de Su Binu

For lovers of tradition and local culture linked to the agro-pastoral world and ancient craft skills, a must-see is the Ethnographic Museum called 'Su magasinu de su binu'. Consisting of an indoor space, the warehouse, and an outdoor space, the structure re-proposes the classic typology of the Sardinian 'medau', inside which are the tools of ancient craftsmen, the carpenter, the cooper and the blacksmith, as well as a large section of tools used for working the fields. The women's world is represented by objects related to the processing and preparation of foods such as flour, semolina, bread and pasta typical of the area. There is also weaving, as well as the processing of the 'silk of the sea', byssus, obtained from the 'Pinna Nobilis' a protected species from which the fibre was obtained that on the Island of Sant'Antioco itself has had a long tradition of craftsmanship.
